Meet Joanne "Jo" Korda, a Client Service Associate at Epping. Jo began her career in administration in the 1980s as part of the Youth program, a government initiative aimed at providing employment opportunities to those struggling to find work. Despite leaving school at the age of 16, Joann secured her first job with the Education Department, where she worked in various reception and administration roles over the years with employers such as the Victorian Tourism Commission and Victoria Police Department.

She married her husband Richard in 1993 and left the Victorian Public Service to raise their twin boys, Alexander and Patrick, born in 1994. Once the boys were old enough to attend school, Joann re-entered the workforce part-time at Integrated Health Care before deciding to pursue a return to study course to explore different career options. Although she was initially set on becoming a vet nurse due to her love of animals, Joann ultimately found herself working in a call centre operator role at the Message Centre for ten years while studying.

After taking a break from her job with long service leave, Jo decided to return to reception and administration work and found an opportunity with RJS through a conversation with her colleague, Christine. She joined the Epping Office six months ago and has been enjoying learning about accountancy despite initially feeling intimidated by numbers. She is now Xero qualified and has been getting used to accounting terminology such as invoices, receipts, and ledgers.

Joanne loves learning new things every day at RJS and is passionate about providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for clients. She feels supported in her learning by her colleagues Andrew, Ana, Ying, and Karol. In her free time, Jo enjoys watching Australian Rules Football (G NORTH!!!) and supporting her beloved North Melbourne Football Club, which has been a family tradition for generations. Her grandparents were even honored by the club on their 50th wedding anniversary.
