Champion Australian trotter Just Believe, who is partly owned by Cranbourne accountant Malcolm Wells, his family & 22 other owners, including 4 RJS clients in James Horne, Linda & Stephen Plail & Bradley Walters is one of 16trotters worldwide to be invited to run in the 2023 Elitloppet (The Elite Race) in Sweden on the 28th May.

Since September last year, Just Believe has an imposing record having won the Group One Bill Collins Sprint, the 2022 Inter Dominion Final, the third trotter in the races history to go through the series undefeated, the Great Southern Star & the Australian Trotters Grand Prix.

He has also won the Group Two races,  Shepparton Trotters Cup, the Kilmore Trotters Cup & the following Group Three races, the E B Cochrane Trotters Cup and the three Heats of the Inter Dominion. Since hitting a purple patch in September Just Believe has raced 16 times for 10 wins, 5 seconds & a third. With such an imposing record he caught the attention of Swedish authorities who issued an invitation.

The Elitloppet (pronounced Elit-lop) has been raced each year since 1952 & Just Believe becomes only the eighth Australian/New Zealand horse to be invited. Whilst no Aussie/NZ horse has won the Elitloppet, Malcolm said “It will happen one day & it might as well start with Just Believe “

The Elitloppet is very similar to the Great Southern Star, where the horses race in their heat earlier in the night and the final is run later that same night. Having won this years Great Southern Star, Just Believe is well prepared to get the job done. The race is one mile and will be won in approximately1m50s, a long way to go for a short race, but worth it.
