The JobKeeper benefit has reduced to $1200 for Tier 1 employees and $750 for Tier 2 employees
Tier 1 – worked more than 80 hours in February or June 2020
Tier 2 – worked less than 80 hours in February or June 2020
For Eligible Business Participants the Tier level is determined by the number of hours worked in February 2020.
For a business to continue receiving JobKeeper past September they must compare turnover for July to Sept 2020 with the same period 2019. To be eligible, turnover must be down by 30% using the same method (cash or accruals) as the Business Activity Statements. It is no longer optional to elect cash or accruals.
It is crucial to update the Tier level on your Single Touch Payroll system and staff must be notified within 7 days of notifying the ATO of Tier levels.
